Celebrate Today

Today’s card is colorful and cheery! I got my order in from the Occasions Catalog yesterday and was super excited! My nephew, Aaron, is turning 13 years old in 2 weeks and I thought I’d make his last adolescent birthday card colorful. Next year I’ll stick with black and dark blue…haha. Before I had kids of my own, I called Aaron my first son – I loved and adored him like my own. He’s one of the smartest kids I know and I’m so very proud of him.

Anyway – today’s card is from the Celebrate Today kit! So cute. It comes with matching dies and I had to use them! The colors I chose are Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie for the orange balloon, Marina Mist and Pacific Point for the blue balloon, and Wild Wasabi for the green balloon and the happy birthday banner. The card base is in Daffodil Delight.

I used the lighter inks to stamp the balloons, then the darker inks to add the balloon decor. The green balloon and it’s banner was stamped on a separate piece of scrap paper so I could use my dies to cut them out. Once cut, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals (double-sided foam stickers) to prop up the image to give it a 3D effect.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card!
