Hi there, friends!

I tried something new for today’s card.  I’ve seen some longer cards that have inspired me to make my own today.  Pretty Pink Posh is having a sale for their Birdie Friends set for the next 3 days.

When I saw the three little birdies in this stamp, it reminded of my friend Ruby’s duck card.  You can see it HERE.  She used the little ducks from the Hello Bluebird Puddle Play stamp set – which I thought was sooo clever bc the set is a rain-themed set.  She totally thought outside the box and got creative using the little ducks only for her card.  Anyway – it totally inspired the card I’m sharing with you today!

I started by stamping the little birdie friends and a few accessories and colored them using Copic Markers (R0000, R30, R21, E31, E23, Y17).  Once colored, I die-cut the images using the Birdie Friends coordinating dies.  Then I highlighted the images using my trusty Sakura White Gelly Roll pen in white.

I decided to cut a card base to 3.5″ by 6″.  It’s so fun that you can make it any size you’d like but I wanted to keep it at 6″ with this card – just enough to have a row of 9 birdies.  On the background, as inspired by Ruby’s card, I used a cloud stencil to ink-blend some Tumbled Glass distress ink.  I really didn’t want to use a grass die since I’m trying to stick with Pretty Pink Posh products, so I decided to draw in some grass using a G03 Copic marker.

Finally, I die cut a fence using Pretty Pink Posh’s Picket Fence die to add behind the birdies to give this card a little something extra.  I stamped the sentiment directly on the card using some plain black ink.
