Pretty Pink Posh – September Product Release Blog Hop – Anemones

Hello!

Today we’re celebrating Day 2 of the Pretty Pink Posh September Product Release!  Welcome to my blog if it’s your first time here – I’m so glad you’ve joined me!

SeptBlogHop

This release is full of fun fall inspiration.  I made two cards for the sneak peek posts on the Pretty Pink Posh blog earlier in the month and will share them on my personal blog soon.  So today, I thought I’d share a card using the new Anemones set!

PPP White Anemones

I know anemones aren’t always white – but that’s the first color that popped into my head for these flowers and I tend to color realistically – so here’s my take on the white anemones.  First, let me share the photo I used for inspiration:

White Anemone.jpg

It’s gorgeous, right?  I’ll admit…I trashed the first flower I tried to color using only Copic markers.  The purple in the petals are so soft that there was no way I was going to achieve this look.  So I settled for coloring with grays and going back in to add some subtle purple with colored pencils.

I stamped the flowers using a Copic-friendly ink, then colored them using the following colors:  C00, C1, C3, YG07, G05, YG01, and V09.  Once done, I went through with a purple Faber-Castell Polychromos in Mauve (249) and added veins to the petals and then used Pine Green (267) to add depth to the leaves.  Then I die cut all the images and added white gel accents to the center of the flowers.

For the background, I used the Scallop Frame dies and used the smaller die to cut out a glitter gold frame.  I masked off the area and ink-blended with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide, then added some water splatters and white ink splatters before adhering the frame down using some 3M foam tape for added dimension.  The flowers were then arranged over the frame – so all of it is adhered to the card using 3M foam tape.  Finally, I completed the card using a sentiment from the new Simple Sayings: Kind stamp set – also from this release.
