Hello again!

It’s a busy, but very exciting day in the cardmaking-world!  It’s World Cardmaking Day and many stamp companies are participating in special events today.  For Lil’ Inker Designs, we’re releasing the exclusive Cover Up Die:  Diagonal Plaid  It can be cut twice and one rotated create multiple cross-patterns.  As you can see, you can use any color cardstock and add your own details like I have with today’s card.

For today’s holiday card, I chose red and gray and chose white for the card base.  I added lines in white and black for added interest before adhering the layers together to get the look I was going after.  I used the Vintage Christmas Wreath stamp and dies as the focal image on this card – it is SOOOO detailed and beautiful!  I could’ve embossed in black for some heavy contrast, but gold and the holidays just made sense to me.

I embossed the image and began coloring the image using Tombow Dual Brush Pens.  These pens watercolor so beautifully.  If you haven’t tried it out – you need to!  Colors used:   N45 Gray, 969 Brown, 676 & 679 Purple, 847 & 856 Red, 249 & 277 Green, 985 Yellow.  Once I was done coloring, I also embossed the sentiment in the center using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and clear embossing powder.

I added two enamel dots that coordinate with the red cardstock that I used by Stampin’ Up!  I then propped the image over some foam adhesive and finished my card!  I really hope you enjoyed this!
