Hero Arts – Fairy Window

Hi There!

I’m here to bring you more fairy-goodness today from the latest Hero Arts release.  Today’s card is super simple – but color choices will definitely change the look from one card to the next. Let’s jump right in!

I used the Fairy Window die and cut it out using black cardstock for a silhouette look. For the background, I used the new background stamp called Star Light Bold Prints.  I felt that these two products compliment each other well and envisioned a scene looking through dark woods with the sky illuminating the background.

For the background, I positioned the background stamp in my original MISTI and inked it up using Distress Oxide inks – I had never stamped using this ink before but felt maybe it would give it nice, even coverage.  I stamped Salty Ocean twice, then used Blueprint Sketch to stamp the otter edges to make it a bit darker.  To add some shimmer, I spritzed some shimmer spray on the inked background.

After adhering the Fairy Window over the inked panel, I positioned the sentiment from the Wish I May stamp set in my MISTI once more and stamped the sentiment on the card panel to complete it.    Super quick and easy – you can use any ink and/or color you’d like and I think it create a different look and feel.  I hope that inspires you to create something with a background stamp and die that you might already have in your stash (if not, links are available throughout this post and below if you’d like to shop 😉 ).

Have a wonderful day!

XOXO,

    1. I like it and don’t notice much of a difference with the coloring. The paper itself, however, is smoother. I like it better for ink-blending for that reason.
