I tried a peek-a-boo card! I know I can’t give the explanation better than Jennifer McGuire – so be sure to check out her blog post HERE and watch her fabulous video tutorial.
I’ll try my best to share the info below. Let’s check out the card!
Peek-a-boo cards are so fun because the window reveals one image from the outside, but when you open the card, another image is revealed! Today, I’m using Hello Bluebird’s Pig Day set.
To get started, you need 3 pieces. I’ve snapped a photo for you and the dimensions are provided on the image:
As you can see, I cut and scored the necessary pieces, then I prepared the card front by ink-blending it and adding splatters. After stamping the sentiment and decorating on the inside, die-cutting the windows is next. For the windows, I used a circle die approximate 2 1/4″. I die cut the front window first – then folded the center panel and lined it up with the front panel to cut through both center layers in the same place. This is very important so be sure to get it as close as possible.
After decorating the inside of the center panel, you can adhere the it to the back panel. Fold the small flap from the back panel up, add a strong adhesive, and line it up with the center panel like you see in the photo above. To adhere the front layer, you add adhesive to the top of the center piece and add the front layer, making sure the windows line up.
I needed two images for the windows and found it easier to die-cut the window images first – using a circle die slightly larger than the windows. The image circles are roughly 2 1/2″. I cut the circles and stamped the images and colored them using Copic markers (E000, E00, E01 for the pigs, R20 for the blush, B00, B24 for the bluebird, G00, BG11, BG34 for the balloon). Once done coloring, I blended some color to match the front panel and glued them behind the two windows.
That’s it! the tricky part was the construction of the interactive card – the images are confined to the window and with only two required elements, it makes coloring super quick and easy. I hope you’ll give it a try! I love interactive cards so it’s always fun to try something new for me.

What a cute and fun card! Thank you for introducing me to the Hello Bluebird Stamps. They are all so adorable! I’ve loved all of the cards and tags that you’ve made with them. I’ve gotta get myself some! Can’t wait to see what new products they come out with this year as well.

Fabulous interactive card. Love this cute pig. I just tried making one after seeing this card. Btw just wondering which of the two cardstocks listed do you use for ink blending? Any advice you have with the two listed cardstock cardstocks (I have both at home so since you use them I thought I’d ask)? jeandonny2000 at hotmail dot com

I use hammermill paper for ink blending and Copic coloring. The recollections 110 is heavy weight cardstock that I use for card bases and card construction only. Though, I have heard is works great for Copic coloring also.
