Hello!

I’m guest-designing for Gina K. Designs today and I have two floral cards to share with you today! I met Gina last October and she had given me a stamp set to play with which wasn’t released until last week. I had posted this card on my Instagram account in November, but I’m blogging it now to share the info for those who missed my IG post. The stamp set, which I think is appropriately named, is called Vibrant Blooms! I definitely have a vibrant one to share! (Maybe the name was inspired by my card – ha!)

I stamped these images using Gina K.’s Amalgam Jet Black Ink. If you haven’t used it yet, it’s a wonderful all-purpose ink! Then I colored the images using Copics. I used a white gel pen to add some highlights and added dots to the floral centers.

I didn’t have dies at the time, but the Vibrant Blooms Dies are available now! So after fussy cutting, I added foam adhesive to each piece. Then I set them aside to prepare the card panel.

I ink-blended a white card panel using Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink , stamped the sentiment to make sure I had room, and die cut this panel with a scallop frame die that I have, then arranged the flowers and foliage just above it to create my floral spray.

My second card features the You Make Me Smile set. It’s such a sweet and delicate set and I really enjoyed creating this! Once again, I stamped the images using the Gina K. Amalgam ink. I also stamped the stems in vase after deciding how I waned my flowers to come out of the jar.

I colored the images using Copic markers and die cut them out using the coordinating You Make Me Smile Dies. Then I set them aside to work on the background. I wanted to create a soft background and surface for the vase, so I masked off an area to ink blend the upper portion using Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink and colored a woodgrain surface using Copics (E41 and E31).

To arrange the flowers and vase, I first adhered the vase to the card front using foam adhesive. Then I added the longer stems, peony bud, and foliage directly to the card stock to give it the illusion that it’s further behind the shorter peony towards the bottom of the vase. The rest of the flowers are adhered using foam adhesive as well for dimension. I embossed the simple sentiment from the Vibrant Blooms set on black paper and a cut fishtail before adhering it next to the jar using foam tape. The touch of gold thread makes the card even more delicate. For a final touch, I added Nuvo drops around the image as well as in the center of the flowers.
