Welcome to a new month of Hero Arts’ My Monthly Hero Kit! This month’s theme is all things crafty. If you missed the Hero Arts’ Countdown to Creativity posts on the Hero Arts blog, you’ll have to check it out for more inspiration in addition to this blog hop.

My card today features a large stand-alone die from the kit – featuring a heart-shaped yarn ball. Once again, I wanted it to be colorful. After die-cutting, I ink-blended the yarn using Soft Lilac, Soft Pool, Soft Yellow, and Bubblegum ink.

Then I die-cut the knitting needles using pink metallic cardstock – and what do you know! I actually have knitting needles in that color! I weaved it through the die-cut yarn strands to mimic a real yarn ball.

I decided to make this a shaker card by ink-blending the same colors on the card base, adding acetate to the card front and filling the shaker portion with some Hero Arts sequins. To give the sentiment some extra interest, I stamped the ruler on the card front before stamping and embossing my sentiment strip and adhering it to the card using foam adhesive for some dimension.
