Welcome to an all new Stencil release for Altenew! If you haven’t seen the full collection yet, you’ll need to check it out HERE. You can also click on the image below to be re-routed to view them all!

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not much of a stencil user – I often don’t think to use them so this is was a treat to focus on the use of stencils for this release! I decided to use the Buffalo Plaid Builder Stencil – because I love anything plaid and gingham-patterned!
I created a soft background to accent some flowers from the Beloved Daisy stamp set. I began with a white A2-sized card panel. I ink-blended the pattern once using Baby Pink ink, then rotated the paper 90 degrees to work in the opposite direction. After doing so, I added green and yellow lines with markers and a ruler to give it a bit more color and interest.

Now to decorate my background, I added a second white panel, an inch smaller on all sides to still show off the background. Before adhering it to the plaid panel, I scored it a quarter inch in all around to give it a frame.

Teal Flowers: Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake, Lagoon
Pink Flowers: Blush, Coral Bliss, Coral Berry
Foliage: Forest Glades, Evergreen
Flower centers: Citrus Burst, Maple Yellow, Honey Drizzle, Sunkissed, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze
I decorated my white panel with some extra flowers from the Beloved Daisy Set from a previous project I had done. The colors I used for the images are listed above for you.

The sentiment is from the Sakura Blossom stamp set. I simply stamped it in the corner of my scored panel using Altenew’s Obsidian ink. To finish off my card, I added a few dew drops to fill the white space above the flowers.

Absolutely stunning card, Caly! Love the soft pinks you used in creating the plaid, and the center element really sets off the flowers. I especially love your drawn lines, which look like you wrapped your card in ribbons. Very creative look! Thanks for your inspiration today!

I love the beautiful background you created using the Buffalo plaid stencil. Such a beautiful background. I can see the stencil being used in deeper, darker colors to make an amazing masculine card for any man. Great work and inspiration.

The daisies are lovely on this card. I think that adding the drawn yellow and green lines was just what the Buffalo Plaid pink background needed; otherwise, it would have faded too much into the background.
