Welcome to another exciting Stamptember exclusive from Simon Says Stamp! Today, we’re featuring a collaboration with Hero Arts called Real Flowers-Vintage. It’s a silhouette stamp set and if you’re like me, it might come as a challenge. Honestly, if you don’t have time, they can make clean and simple (as well as elegant) cards for a number of occasions.
I searched google for inspiration for my card today. I saw lots of ink-blending with various colors and embossing, but a card made by Therese Calvrid from Lost in Paper stopped me. She made a 3 panel card in green that truly inspired me to make the purple one today. I honestly thought it was genius. She also has a video and I hope you’ll check out her blog post.
To create my card, I started with an A2-sized blank panel and stamped the images about 1 inch up from the bottom using Grape Slush Reactive Ink. After stamping, I also ink-blended with the same ink around the bottom and sides, fading in for a monochromatic card. Before trimming, I splattered the panel with water and White Iridescent Shimmer.
I then trimmed the sides to clean up the edges by 1/8″ on each side. Then from each side, I made a cut that was 1 1/4″ in. The middle panel will end up being larger than the other two. So I took that panel and cut another 1/8″ from each side. That makes every piece equal in size. I added foam adhesive to the back of each, adhered them to a cardbase, and attached an embossed sentiment from the stamp set. To finish, I attached a few clear dew drops.
