Hi, Friends!
I’m sharing a colored pencil card today using the In the Weeds stamp set from Ellen Hutson. Colored pencils can be such a tedious task but I always love the results when the project is done. The image from this set is really small, but I managed do some no-line coloring also.
I stamped my image on greige (gray/beige) cardstock with a light ink and began coloring slowly first with a darker color in the nooks and crannies, then added a lighter color over the darker, slightly overlapping and around the edges, then blending the color with white. It’s important not to fully cover the area with color if you want it to glow with the lighter areas.
After coloring, I added some green in the background behind the foliage to give it a field shadow. Then, I trimmed my panel and distressed it with a paper scraper (not sure what it’s called, sorry!).
To finish, I splattered the panel a bit with some white paint, adhered my embossed sentiment strip with foam adhesive, and some clear sequins.
Polychromos colors used:
Purples: 249, 136
Browns: 280, 283
Pinks/Reds: 225, 127
Oranges: 111, 108
Blues: 154, 155
Greens: 173, 278, 266, 267, 268, 174
I hope you enjoyed my card! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
