Hi, Friends!
We’re counting down until MFT’s special mid-month red rubber stamps release! Lots of floral stamps coming your way. As promised, I’m trying to share different mediums for these countdown posts until Tuesday’s release. Today’s card features the Fanciful Roses background stamp.
I know this is different! I rarely play with alcohol inks, but I saw a card made using this technique and thought i’d give it a try using the large blooms from this stamp set.
I started by embossing the image in white on translucent vellum. Then on the back, of the vellum, I added alcohol inks and splattered with rubbing alcohol to get more texture.
When done, I ran my vellum panel through my Xyron sticker maker to add adhesive to the back and adhered it over white cardstock. I trimmed down the panel and adhered it over a cardbase using foam adhesive. To finish, I embossed a sentiment strip and added it to my card using more adhesive for dimension.
I hope you enjoyed this technique and like the card! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Very interesting. I really love most of your cards, but I’m not sure about this one. I still love you though. God bless.

Gorgeous card! I guess I’m going to have to break down and get some alcohol inks! Painting the inks on the back of the card seems to lend the effect of alcohol inks but reduces the shininess. It looks so nice!

I’ve yet to try alcohol inks especially with all the mediums out there, but the inks create a look like no other. I love the variation of saturated colors. Beautiful work Caly!
