Lawn Fawnatics – Challenge #80 – Fun with Food – Let’s Toast Pull Tab

Hi, Friends!

There’s a new Lawn Fawnatics Challenge and it’s all about having fun with food! Super fun, right? Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawnatics Blog to see more inspiration from the design team!

I’ve created a pull-tab card using the Let’s Toast set to create a fun countertop breakfast scene. The toaster makes for an awesome base for a pull tab element!

A piece of toast pops up out of the toaster when you pull on the pull tab. On the counter, we already have toaster pastries, and a piece of toast with jelly so we’re waiting on a another piece of toast to use with the butter and/or avacado.

I started my card first by stamping and coloring all the fun images using Copic markers. I stamped the jelly with Juice Box and Sugar Plum inks and the sprinkles with Grape Soda, Bubblegum, and Merman inks.

Copic Color Combinations:
Toaster/Butter Knife:  C9, C7, C5, C3, C2, C1
Avocado:  YG11, YG13, YG17, YG95, YG99
Toast:  E35, E37, E50, E30, E35
Toaster Pastries:  E50, E30, E51, E53
Butter:  Y11, Y13, Y15
Butter Dish:  B0000, B00, B02

My background is created by ink-blended Gathered Twigs, Cracked Pistachio, and Peacock Feathers. I splattered it with some water droplets before die-cutting my stitched frame and pull-tab elements.

I decorated my card with all the images and to finish, I embossed my sentiments over Mermaid cardstock that I also ink-blended with Peacock Feathers to get it to match the background better.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! If you play along, be sure to link it up to the Lawn Fawnatics Blog for this challenge! This challenge ends on July 19th at 11:59pm PST.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

  1. Hello, Daly!

Could you please tell me what weight card stock you recommend for Lawn Fawn interactive die cuts? Specifically, the toast pop up and the magic iris lens? Can they be cut with lighter weight (65 lb, 80 lb) or is 100/110 lb paper better?

Thanks in advance for any tips you can share.

    1. Hi Connie! I don’t like anything too thick or bulky for interactive elements. I’ve never used anything lighter than 80lbs though.
