Clearly Besotted – Naughty or Mice?

Hi, Friends!

I’m a guest for Clearly Besotted for their holiday release and today, I’m sharing inspiration using the Naughty or Mice? set! These new goodies go live on October 1st and links will be updated so you can shop then! Goodness, these tiny critters are so cute! I stamped a bunch and colored them with Copic markers to create a spinner card!

After fussy cutting the images, I die-cut two small circles and adhered the critters to the edge of one and used the other to create a sandwich to give them more stability. Before adhering that top one, I stamped the sentiment first using the new Present a Plushie set.

To make it a spinner, I used a piece of 4×4 cardstock and ink-blended some Peacock Feathers, then used a circle die smaller than the one I used previously to cut a hole. I die-cut one more large circle for the mechanism which will sit freely underneath the square panel – sometimes people use coins for this piece, but I don’t like the weight and bulk. To create some height between this large circle and the spinner piece we created, I die-cut some craft foam with that same smaller circle die and slightly trimmed it all the way around so it would fit inside the hole of the ink-blended panel and can be adhered to both sets of larger circle components. I’m sorry if this is confusing! Speaking in terms of layers from the bottom: large circle, 4×4 ink-blended cardstock, foam circle adhered to the large circle through the hole cut into the 4×4 cardstock, then the spinner/colored panel.

Once the spinner portion is adhered, you’ll want to add adhesive to back of the ink-blended panel to attach it to a card base – only around the corners where it wont touch that circle mechanism so that there is no obstruction.

I hope you like this card! it’s a fun way to use a stamp set with lots of small characters! Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Hi Caly! Lovely to have you joining us this month. What a super idea to make a spinner card with those cute little mice. And you explained it perfectly. I love this idea and thank you for the reminder to make one!
