I’m sharing a watercolor card today using Gina K Designs’ Timeless Poppies. This is such a beautiful set and I waited a long time for them to be available again to purchase and use! I can see why it is so popular. What I love about it is the large size! My card today is a 5″ x 7″ card and fully displays the stamp.

I stamped the image on watercolor cardstock with a light ink to do some no-line watercoloring. I started with the red poppies, then the centers first with orange, then the detail work with the black.

I used three different shades of green for each type of foliage. When I was done, I trimmed my panel to mat an A7 (5″ x 7″) cardbase. Then, I splattered the panel using Finetec Gold paint. Since the splatters are small, they dried quickly and I was able to stamp the sentiment almost right away.

I decided to stamp my sentiment right over the painted image with a crisp black ink. I think adhered this panel to a layer of foam and then adhered it to the cardbase for lots of dimension.
