Colorado Craft Company is celebrating a new release with a new illustrator! Kris Lauren, is the owner and illustrator of Pretty Little Lines and will bring her whimsy and elegant illustrations to Colorado Craft Company. It is exciting!

I had a hard time choosing between the beautiful mice, whimsy gnome, and gorgeous floral images to color for today’s card! I ended up using the Happy Peony set and spent a lot of time coloring to bring it to life.

I used Copic markers to color the large image. My card today is a 5″ x 7″ card so you can see how large this illustration is fully stamped. The butterfly is a separate image. I stamped both images in my MISTI using a black ink but I wasn’t too careful with my stamping. I restamped after coloring with a crisp black ink – I learned this from Yana Smakula and it really makes the images pop with that stark outline!

Peonies:  RV000, R81, R83, R85, R89
Peonies Centers:  Y15, YR24, E35
Cherry Blossoms:  R01, R21, R22, R24
Berries:  RV63, RV66, RV69
Foliage:  [YG06, YG09], [G12, G14, G16]
Butterfly:  BG000, BG02, BG07, RV66, RV69

On a piece of Simon Says Stamp Fog cardstock, I ink-blended some Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Ink – I love using ink over colored cardstock to give it more interest!

I attached my butterfly to the peony, then attached the entire image to the ink-blended panel using foam adhesive to give it dimension. I finished by stamping the sentiment and adding it to the card with foam adhesive as well.
