I’m sharing some more framed art today using the Altenew Billowing Peonies set. This stamp, stencil and die set is absolutely gorgeous! It’s a large set – 8.5″ x 11″! I used the Altenew Stampwheel to stamp the image with black hybrid ink on white cardstock and watercolor cardstock so I can use the stamp and stencil sets.
First first project is watercolored and because I didn’t have the heart to cut it up for a card, I framed it.
Daniel Smith Watercolors: Quinacridone Lilac, Quinacridone Violet, Quinacridone Gold, Green Apatite Genuine.
The Billowing Peonies die set cuts out the large sentiments, but you can fussy-cut around the words too. I know buying dies can be a huge investment.
My second card uses the Billowing Peonies stencils to add color. I made a 5″ x 7″ card and added layers to give it more texture. I trimmed the panel to layer it over a piece of Fog cardstock. I also added an A7 Thin Frame to ground the image.
There are LOTS of stencil layers and it provides so much detail to the flowers and foliage. I really enjoyed using and feel like it’s a lot easier to add color with stencils.
