I went through my cling stamps bin and pulled out a few of my favorites to try some new things I’ve never tried before. Today’s card uses Distress Ink to watercolor. The Poppies Background cling stamp is one of my favorites!
I used the Distress Ink cubes to apply the color to the background cling stamp – adding the Candied Apple to the flowers and the Rustic Wilderness to the stems and leaves. Then I stamped the image over watercolor paper.
Using a damp brush, I applied water and the ink from the outlines from the stamping bled out to give the images color. I also added more pigment by picking up the ink after it was pounced on my glass desktop in areas that needed more color.
When I was done watercoloring, I spritzed the entire panel. I thought it would give it a softer look and was curious about what would happen. To give the panel more texture, I also splattered it with Rustic Wilderness. I also applied some Black Soot to the flower centers, then added details using a drawing pen. To finish, I used a sentiment from the Clean Line XL set.
