Today’s card uses the Poppy Bundle Embossing Folder from the Simon Says Stamp Be Bold release. There are several great embossing folders from this release, so be sure to check them all out if you haven’t already!
I follow an artist on Instagram, Polly Hill, who does beautiful “splatter painting” – it’s what I’m calling it. She does lots of colorful floral paintings that start out as splatters. It’s mesmerizing to watch. You know I can’t handle messes (or what my brain thinks as messy), but her paintings definitely inspired this card. I started out with a light wash of water over watercolor paper and I added drops of blue, green, green, yellow, and pink. You can barely tell it’s there because of my aversion to mess…ha! Anyhow…once that dried, I splattered it with a bit more red and yellow. Then, I embossed the paper through the Poppy Bundle Embossing Folder.
I painted the poppies and stems like I normally would and added some stems of buds too. To finish, I splattered it once more with the red paint and then added a sentiment from the Pretty Petals set.
