Simon Says Stamp – Zippy Winter

Hello friends!

Today’s card uses the Zippy Winter set, brought to you by the adorably genius mind of Cathy Zielske! If you haven’t seen this set from the Sweet Wishes release, here’s an acetate card I hope you’ll enjoy!

I started with a piece of Audrey Blue cardstock and stamped it with the Sparkle Strands background stamp. I embossed it with white embossing power to do some emboss-resist with Ocean ink to give it more shading around the edges. This A7 Acetate Card (5″ x 7″), so my cardstock was trimmed to 4.75″ x 6.75″ before I adhered it to inside of the acetate card. On the backside, I adhered a piece of 5″ x 7″ white piece of paper to leave room for a note and to matte the Sparkle Strands panel.

Next, I stamped the adorable images from the Zippy Winter set. I stamped the images with Ocean Ink, then used black ink to stamp the Santa hat and faces. Next, I used Seafoam ink to stamp the shadows on their faces. To add more color and details, I used Copic markers to color the Santa hat (R32, R35, R37) and to add blush to their cheeks (R30, R22).

I also stamped a sentiment – which I adhered to the inside over the Sparkle Strands panel. The Zippy Winter images were then adhered to the outside of the acetate top flap. I love using Red Line Tape for adhering paper to acetate because its durable and super strong. I die-cut extra pieces to place on the back of the images (on the inside of the card) as well to hide adhesive from the stamped images to clean everything up for the inside of the card.
