Simon Says Stamp – Brilliant Poinsettias with Distress Spritz

Today’s card uses a few new products from the Festive Fun release along with Tim Holtz’s latest Distress Spritz release (Bundle 3). From the the new release, I used the Whirl Holly die and also the new True Green cardstock (used for the twig branches).

The star of the show would probably be the Brilliant Poinsettia Embossing Folder (with die). I carefully ink-blended the embossed panel with different red inks. Waffle Flower Shader Brushes helped me get ink into small areas. To further define the corners and petals, I used a a dark red Polychromos colored pencil. Next, I used a BG13 dark teal Copic marker to color the background white space.

I then used a few new Distress Spritz colors from Bundle 3 to spray over the background (Salvaged Patina) and the red flowers (Lumberjack Plaid). I used the Whirl Holly and Berry Stems to die-cut from green cardstock. After ink-blending them, I also sprayed them with Rustic Wilderness Distress Spritz.

I added some white berries from the Whirl Holly die and finished with a sentiment from the Reverse Typed Christmas set.
