Tim Holtz just released an expanded color line of Distress Embossing Glazes for Ranger! These glazes work like embossing powders, but are translucent, provide fun textures, and can be used with other mediums! My card today uses texture paste with a stencil.

I simply applied texture paste using the Painted Flowers Wreath and before allowing it to dry, I added the new colored Distress Embossing Glazes, one color at a time to each of the areas I wanted to target. I didn’t do any masking since there’s wet paste, but was careful not to allow too much bleeding of color into unwanted areas.

Ranger/TH Distress Embossing Glazes used on this card: Abandoned Coral, Seedless Preserves, Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Mowed Lawn

Other colors from this release that were not used:  Aged Mahogany, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Bundled Sage, Crushed  Olive, Chipped Sapphire, Pumice Stone

When I was done applying color, I heat-set the embossed areas and it causes some bubbling of the texture paste/embossing glazes. This can be avoided by allowing the paste to air dry, but I don’t mind the variation in color/texture. I think I may have over-heated the areas since there is also a separation in color but I thought it looked so cool that I went over everything again to get a uniform look.

I finished with simple sentiments from the CZ Hello die and Reverse Bold Hello Sentiment Strips. Then to cover up some areas that didn’t get nice coverage with embossing glaze (because the paste dried with time), I scraped off the little dots of color and replaced them with some Sunshine Pearls instead.
