This year’s Stampin’ Up spring catalog (the Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration rewards) is about to kick off on January 6th! This card that I made today is from the Sale-A-Bration catalog (products you can earn free from purchases). It’s called the Lotus Blossom stamp set. It’s so pretty!
To make this card, I used a piece of white cardstock cut to 4″x 5 1/4.” Since this set requires two-step stamping (more like 3-step stamping for the lotus), I picked colors that were not too dark and not too light. The lotus is inked using Wisteria Wonder and the stem is inked using Wild Wasabi. The card base is Wisteria Wonder.
I started with the stem. You want to ink the full image first with a lighter tone by stamping off, then layer the darker tone on top (without stamping off first). Since the lotus is 3 steps, you want to stamp off twice with bottom layer, then stamp off with the 2nd layer, then ink and stamp directly with the top layer. This really gives the image a blended effect. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I added some ribbon to finish it off. It’s so simple and sweet!
