Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away, Ya’ll!!!

My Favorite Things (MFT) is challenging crafters to spread thankfulness by making a card for someone you’re thankful for. I had some time last night so I created this card using a set called Geometric Greenery and Grateful by MFT.  It’s also helping me to participate in Kathy Racoosin’s 30 day color challenge.  🙂

I stamped the images with Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed them with clear powder on Canson XL watercolor paper so I can use various colors of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the panel – leaving room in the center for this “grateful” die cut from the Grateful set.

I added glossy accents on op of this die cut word to give it some shine and dimension.  When I was done coloring, I decided I wanted to accent the leaves using dots and lines using a white gel pen. I also went around all the images with blue and dispersed the color with some water to blur the lines. It really makes it pop!  To finish it off, I matted it with some Rich Razzleberry cardstock by Stampin’ Up.  It was a quick card and it turned out beautifully.

I have so many people to be grateful for.  This amazing community of crafters who are always so supportive of one another with uplifting comments.  It always brings me so much comfort to know that I’m not alone in finding joy in creating.  This thought always brings me back to my previous neighbor, Karen, who introduced me to stamping/card-making.  She’s such a beautiful person and remains a special part of our lives so I want to dedicate this card to her.
