Hello!
Did you know that Pinkfresh Studio has monthly challenges that you can participate in? You can do a scrapbook layout, card, or anything using Pinkfresh Studio products. This month’s theme is Inspiration. We’re hoping you’ll create a card(s) using the color scheme below based on a Pinkfresh design team member that has inspired you. I don’t always get the chance to participate, but I really did feel inspired with this theme!
We have so many inspirational design team members and I have to say that my cards are inspired by Natalia Valkovskaya and Zsoka Marko. Sometimes, I feel like I live under a rock in this community because I didn’t know these talented cardmakers/scrapbook layout designers before joining the Pinkfresh Studio design team. These ladies make the most whimsy, soft and elegant cards and it really amazes me how they capture the essences of the Pinkfresh product line. I really am inspired by them! They are also very supportive and encouraging and I’m so glad to be working with such wonderful women.
I knew I wanted to use these die cut words with botanicals. To incorporate the colors from the challenge, I decided to use alcohol inks for these cards. I used the following alcohol ink colors: Eggplant, Salmon, Lemonade, Shell Pink, and Aqua (in the same order as listed in the challenge poster above).
I used the alcohol on yupo paper with direct-paper application and used a hand air blower to push the color around. I was able to use one A2 sized panel and cut them in two for both cards.
I used the Love with Botanicals and Hello with Botanicals dies to cut out the words and some of the foliage/flowers on white cardstock. I wanted to keep these cards very clean and simple with the colors only popping through the die cut words as the major focal point. I adhered the alcohol panels to the back of the die cut panel directly and arranged the foliage and flowers where I wanted my sentiment to be and adhered it with a little glue dot.
The sentiments are embossed in white over black paper and propped up on some foam tape for some dimension using a stamp set from Pinkfresh Studio called Birds with Flowers.
Before placing the card fronts on the black mat, I decided to frame the black cardstock with some gold ink. I simply ran the Metallic Gold Ink pad along the edges of the cardstock to give it a soft gold line. I feel like this makes the card more elegant and gives it a more finished look.
Thanks to Natalia and Zsoka for their inspiration on these cards. I hope I’ve also inspired YOU – whether it be to create a card just for fun, to use alcohol inks, or to create a clean and simple card – the reasons are endless! I hope that your day is fabulous and as always – thanks so much for stopping by today!
XOXO,
