Good morning!

Today is a special day for Pretty Pink Posh!  It’s the release day for the Pretty Pink Posh & Simon Says Stamp Stamptember collaboration!  This year’s set is goregous – PANSIES!!!  I’m so excited about this set – and I hope you are too.  What I love is the variety of colors they come in…and they’re multi-color, which can be a challenge, but I hope my card today will give you some fun ideas and inspire you!

I started by stamping the images using Versafine Onyx Black ink so that I could watercolor – I think this might be one of the simplest ways to blend contrasting colors (in layers).  Here’s the photo that inspired my coloring:

I decided to use Arteza Real Brush Pens (you can use Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens also!)  The colors I used are:  Currant Red (A114), Rouge Pink (A190), Orchid Purple (A125), Honey (A121), and Parakeet Green (A185).  I started with the red and pink colors.  I did all of these colors first, leaving the center blank/light because I knew I would need to go back with the Honey color once the red/pink was dry.  I added the Honey – then went over the contrasted areas with the dark purple to achieve this blended, contrasted look of pink/peach pansies.

When I was done coloring, I fussy cut the images.  I didn’t have the dies when I created this set – but you bet I will be buying the coordinating dies (hopefully before they are out of stock).  Remember that once Stamptember products are sold out, they will not be restocked…so hurry!

For the back panel, I ink blended Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink, concentrating under the areas where I knew I was going to place the flowers, and blending it out from there.  Once I adhered the flowers/foliage down, I centered and stamped the sentiment from the new Pretty Pink Posh Simple Sayings:  Kind stamp set. To finish the card, I added some dew drops to the white areas of the card.

These pansies can be colored in so many different ways!
