HAPPY NEW YEAR! Stopping by this morning with two quick cards that I made using the new Spellbinders/Fun Stampers Journey NEW Stamp of the Month! This is a new club to Spellbinders/Fun Stampers Journey in addition to their current club kits.
This month’s stamp kit is called Key to My Heart and is available for purchase now! I’ve created the two cards using gold heat embossing with ink-blending to highlight the focal images on each card. The sentiment is embossed in white over black cardstock.
SUPER simple – if you haven’t given this “technique” a try yet with ink-blending, I hope you’ll give it a go! I find that stamping and ink-blending over colored cardstock really adds special color you can’t get when ink-blending over white cardstock. On the blue card, I used Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide inks.
On the red card, I used Cherry Cobbler ink from Stampin’ Up! – any inks that you have will work :).
As you can see, I’ve added some dew drops using Glossy Accents and white gel highlights to the images – this helps them pop even more against the colored backgrounds.

Very cool looking cards! I always love gold heat embossing, it’s such an elegant look to me. I like the look you achieved with the ink blending on colored cardstock, especially the red. This stamp set awesome, I’m definitely checking out this new The Spellbinders/Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month. Thanks for the inspiration, I can’t wait to try the ink blending/cardstock technique.
