Pretty Pink Posh – Watercolored Crocus Flowers

Hi, Friends!

I’m at Creativation today but wanted to stop in and share a card that I watercolored using Pretty Pink Posh’s Crocus Flowers.

I stamped the images using Ink on 3 Fadeout No Line Coloring Ink to stamp the images on Arches Cold Pressed watercolor paper. I used Quinacridone Magenta from my Daniel Smith watercolor palette. Like with watercolor markers and brush pens, I apply the color directly to my cardstock, then I use a damp brush to pull color out for an even blend on each petal. For the foliage, I used Phthalo Green in the blue shade.

When I was done watercoloring (it dries really fast), I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies and set them aside to work on the card panel. I also added white-gel lines to the images to give them a bit more interest.

I got a piece of craft cardstock and die cut the sides to add scallop borders using the Scallop Borders 2 dies. Then I lightly splattered it with white ink (I still need to get braver with white ink-splattering). On a delicate doily, I splattered some Quinacridone Magenta. I glued the doily to the card layer, then stamped and embossed the sentiment from the Simple Sayings: Kind stamp set in the top right hand corner.

To finish my card, I arranged the flowers and foliage, one layer at a time starting from the top and ending with the two flowers at the bottom that cover up the ends of all the other painted and die-cut images. Then I added a few Sparkling Clear Jewels to add some sparkles.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you’ve enjoyed this card!

  1. Absolutely beautiful! Your watercoloring is just amazing! So well controlled! Love the layout, the soft background and the pop of colors from the flowers!
