Hello again, Friends!
I’m back today to share another new Hero Arts card. Do you remember that amazing My Monthly Hero Beach kit from June 2018??? You voted it the favorite kit of the year…and SURPRISE! Hero Arts have made it available to you again in two different stamp sets that I’ve used today to share with you! They are coloring layering sets – Sea & Sky and Waves!
Note: These new products are not available in the Hero Arts store yet. I realize this is a bummer, but we will have a Release Blog Hop (on Feb 15th) and I will share this again to remind you :). However, it is available through select retailers!! Links throughout and in my supply list at the end of my blog.
I was pretty bummed out last June when they sold out because I really wanted the kit…so you can imagine how excited I was when these sets showed up in my team box to make samples for this year’s catalog. EEEP!!! Let’s talk about my card – I used the Color Layering Waves set to create both the sand and the ocean. I started by stamping the bottom most layer using Soft Sky ink. Then I flipped this stamp to stamp the sand portion using Soft Vanilla ink. It’s not a perfect line up with the waves meeting the sand…but we’ll talk about that in a minute. I finished layering the waves – stamping the second layer with Cornflower ink and the top layer using Navy ink.
Where the sand meets the water, I used my Versamarker (Versamark ink in a pen) to draw in the tideline – and then embossed it with White Puff Embossing Powder. Then I used Sand Embossing Powder to emboss the “hello” and footprint in the sand.
For the sky, I stamped and embossed the clouds using White Embossing Powder. Then I masked off the ocean portion and ink-blended the sky using Crimson ink to create the sunset and then Cornflower and Navy ink to blend a softer blue using a blending brush to meet the pink center. To finish off this card, I die cut the panel using the Nested Rectangle Infinity Dies to clean up the edges and stamped the sailboat in the distance and added a beach chair.
I have no doubt that these sets will be very popular since everyone asked for it to come back! I hop you enjoyed this project and that you’ll create one too! The color layering stamps make it super easy!

Awesome card! Great layering stamps. I love your use of the special embossing powders for the frothy part of the water that comes up onto the shore and for the writing and footprints in the sand! So creative!
