The Stamp Market – Hand-drawn Heart with Bear Hugs

Hi Friends!

I was on The Stamp Market Blog yesterday as a guest designer and shared a project that I wanted to share it here too for my personal followers. I made this card using the new Hand-drawn Heart Die along with the Bear Hugs Bundle. I couldn’t love this Bear Hugs Bundle more. I am using it again on another guest post and I was pleasantly surprised to find out it to be such a versatile set. Let’s dive right in and talk about today’s card – because the true stunner here is the new Hand-drawn Heart Die!

I started by die-cutting the Hand-drawn Heart from gold foil cardstock. To give it more dimension, I cut it 3 more times using heavy white cardstock. I added adhesive and stacked each one, putting the foil cardstock on top.

I set the heart aside to begin stamping and coloring the bear and tiny heart images using Copic markers (R00, R20, R05, R29, E31, E30, C1, C00). After coloring, I placed the bears where I wanted them to sit on the heart strands and cut off the excess and glued it down to a white card panel.

I took used a white heart from one of the die cut negatives from the hand-drawn heart and ink-blended it with Abandoned Coral and Festive Berries Distress Oxide inks and splattered it with water before in-laying it into the heart. I matted this card panel with a subtle red cardstock and used a layer of craft foam to give it additional dimension.

The sentiment is stamped and embossed in white over black cardstock and adhered to the card using foam adhesive. As a final touch, I flooded the entire heart with a thick layer of clear lacquer (Glossy Accents) and left it to dry overnight. I saved this for last because it’s risky to work on a card with wet lacquer (I often get impatient and stick my finger it in…the shame!…so don’t do that)!

I hope you all enjoyed this card. That so much for stopping by today! See you all again on Monday!

  1. Very cute card and stamp set. What a great idea you had to color, re-insert and “lacquer” the die cut heart! The gold foil cardstock was also a nice touch … so simple but it adds just the right amount of interest. Love it!
