Hello and welcome to Altenew’s February 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop! We’ve got so much to share with you today and I’ve created with several new sets using different color mediums and techniques. I’ve got lots to share, so I’ll jump right in.
My first card uses the new Dotted Blooms stamp set. I decided to emboss the images in gold because I couldn’t decide what color I wanted the branches and stems. Then I used the Dotted Blooms Mask Stencil to apply Rubellite ink to the flowers using an ink-blending brush. The background is created by ink-blending Altenew inks in Desert Night, Dusk, Ocean Waves, and Sea Glass. I splattered the ink-blended panel white and black ink before adhering the images to the panel using foam adhesive. The sentiment is stamped on black cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder.
For my second card, I used Baroque Motifs and embossed the images over dark blue cardstock using white embossing powder. The entire card is then colored using only a white Polychromos colored pencil – concentrating pigment on the right edges of the detailed embossed images. The sentiment is stamped and embossed over black cardstock. To add interest, I added Glossy Accents over the motifs where I had not colored with colored pencil. This card was WAAAYY out there for me – if you follow me, you’ll know I’ve never done something like this before but I started with the intent to add white colored pencils to highlight shadow areas and got carried away!
My third card uses the Beautiful Peony stamp set. I stamped and colored the images using Copic markers (Y13, Y15, RV00, R83, RV34, YG07, G09). After cutting the images, I masked off another card panel (you can also do it directly on a cardbase) and ink-blended a rectangle section to frame my flowers and foliage using Distress Oxide Inks in Wilted Violet and Milled Lavender.
Last but not least, I’ve used the new Exotic Tulips stamp-layering set. I used the following Altenew ink colors to stamp my flowers and foliage: Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Evergreen, Blush, Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss. For the background, I ink-blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. The sentiment is embossed using gold embossing powder over a white banner.

All 4 cards are fabulous and showcase this new release awesomely. The 2nd card is unexpected, uncharacteristic, surprising, and absolutely STUNNING!! I was already in love with the Baroque Motifs set but this card takes it to a whole new level and you know I’m going to have to try one like it lol.
