The Hero Arts April 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit is here! It’s Italian-themed and is die-focused to create village scenes and more! I created a more realistic scene for my Countdown to Creativity post on the Hero Arts Blog, but today, I’m creating a more whimsical scene with rainbow colors.

I ink-blended the card background using purples and blues (and yellow for the building “lights”). Then using other pieces of paper, I ink-blended the buildings and water before die-cutting. I die-cut after ink-blending to prevent harsh ink edges for this card, but it certainly is wonderful to ink-blend after also. I wanted a softer look and also thought it would be easier this way since there are intricate cuts/openings.

Everything is adhered directly to the card panel using liquid adhesive. I also embossed some birds for interest before stamping the sentiment in Intense Black ink.
