Pretty Pink Posh – Spring Wreath

Hey, Friends!

My husband got me a set of Caran d’Ache Luminance Colored Pencils for my birthday and I used them to color my card for Pretty Pink Posh today. They are wax-based like Prismacolor Colored Pencils, but blend beautifully like Polychromos (which are oil-based). It’s not a set I would’ve purchased because I think Polychromos blend great without effort. So if you have Polychromos, my honest opinion is that you don’t need the Caran D’Ache Luminance Colored Pencils. Also, Polychromos comes in much larger sets and have better color variety.

For today’s card, I used the new Spring Wreath stamp set. The stamp set comes with a wreath already formed, but I used the individual images to create my own wreath for this card. I stamped my images on craft cardstock using white pigment ink to begin coloring. I started with a base of white colored pencil, then added medium and dark colors, and blended again with white if I needed to to create highlights on each flower and petal.

Reds:  599, 350,
Purples: 120, 112
Orange/yellow:  077, 036, 810
Greens:  739, 225, 220, 180
White:  001 and blender pencil

After die-cutting all the individual images (I stamped 3 of each), I set them aside to work on my background. I used a circle die to draw a circle for my wreath arrangement. Then I stamped and embossed the sentiment in the center using gold embossing powder.

I ink-blended around this circle template using Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Tumbled Glass. A blend of these three colors makes my heart happy :). To finish the card front, I splattered the panel with white, black, and teal paint. Then using liquid and foam adhesive, I arranged my wreath spacing out all the different images as evenly as I could before adhering the panel to a card base.

I hope you enjoyed this card and that you’ll have a fabulous week!
