Hi, Friends! 

I’ve created another card for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge.  The current them is Spectacular Skies so I’m creating a card using the Upon a Star set.

I wanted to do a fun interactive card and am using the Pivot Pop-Up card.  To create my night sky, I ink-blended the entire inside of a card base with Distress Oxide Inks.  I also ink-blended two 4.25×5.5 pieces for the pop up mechanism and card cover. 

I first blotted/blended Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, and Peacock Feathers in various areas, then covered the entire panel with Blueprint Sketch, allowing some of the other colors to still show through.  Then to intensify the darkness, I added Black Soot.

At this point, I went ahead and embossed my sky with the star images from the Upon a Star stamp set as well as the sentiment.  To give the sky some texture, I lightly sprayed the ink blended card base and panel with a mist of small droplets of water, then splattered them with white paint.

The pop-up mechanism is then decorated with mountains using Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Mountain Borders and a field using a die that comes with the Pivot Pop-Up set.  I ink-blended the mountains with Ground Expresso and the field using Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Inks. I even glued a shooting star together and adhered it to the mechanism with a strip of acetate so it looks like it’s floating.

To complete my card, I colored a fox and bunny using Copic markers and adhered it to my pivot portion.  The exterior of the card is a simplified version of the interior with just stars embossed and a black sentiment strip.
