Hello Again!

The Simon Says Stamp Rest and Refresh release is here!  Lots of summer inspiration and I’ve made a card using the Summa Time set.  It’s a 4×6 set with some fun sentiments and some smaller images to create CAS cards or mix with other fun sets.  I wanted to do some sort of repeat stamping with one of the images and wasn’t sure what to do – so I used Gina K’s Wreath Builder stencil for some help.

I temporarily adhered my wreath builder stencil to an A2-sized card panel to ensure it was centered and all the images would stamp to fit well on the card panel.  After stamping a circle of popsicles, I colored them with Copic markers.  Initially, I thought I would make a simple one-layer card, but decided after coloring that I wanted to have a fun background.  So I fussy cut around the images, leaving the center to hold it all in place.  

The background is light blue cardstock ink-blended with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink around the outer edges and fading lighter towards the center.  I splattered the ink-blended panel with some water and some white acrylic paint for added interest. 

I adhered the popsicle image directly to the card and then stamped and die-cut the sentiment using a Nested Circle die from Simon Says Stamp.  I love that the popsicles kind of pop up on their own being secured only at the center. I adhered the sentiment to the card with foam adhesive for added dimension and to add more interest, I used glossy accents to put some shine on the popsicles.  To finish off the card, I added rainbow Pretty Pink Posh Jewels all over across from their popsicle colors.
