Hi, Friends!

We’re celebrating Hero Arts and Ellen Hutson today! One of the things I love most about Ellen Hutson (and her company) is her United We Flourish campaign. The goal is for companies to work together to form an unbreakable bond through friendship and community. They do a series call Meet the Maker and today, the focus is on Hero Arts and the owner, Aaron Leventhal.

My favorite Hero Arts stamps are the ones that are filled with positive messages and the You Are Loved stamp set is one of them! Jennifer McGuire and Hero Arts worked on this stamp set together to help support the Kind Campaign – an organization that works to end bullying. Did you know that 25% of the proceeds are donated to the Kind Campaign from Hero Arts? That’s what makes Aaron Leventhal so amazing!! He’s such a giver and I have said this before, and will say it again – I’m so honored to design for such an amazing man and his company!

Ironically, I did not choose this stamp set with the United We Flourish campaign and the Kind Campaign in mind. I sat down and reflected on what I wanted to say thinking about both amazing companies and I’m sitting here typing this will chills. I just simply love this card-making and paper-crafting community so much that sometimes, my heart just wants to burst!

Today’s card is simple, but the message is strong. I ink-blended the background and used the Bold Graphic Confetti Die to add a lattice over the inked background. I then cut a heart from Hero Arts’ Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies from vellum to use as a focal point for my card. In the center, I stamped one of the images using a watermark ink and embossed it with gold embossing powder. To give the heart more definition, I also ran the watermark ink around the edges of the vellum heart and added gold embossing powder it also.

The sentiment is stamped over black cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder. Before adhering anything together, I added some gold thread to the back of the sentiment strip, adhered that to the vellum using foam adhesive, then adhered the whole thing to the card panel. The card was then finished off with a few white jewels.
