Hello again, Friends!

I have another Pretty Pink Posh summer card for you today! I’m not great about combining stamp sets – mostly because I don’t think to – so I had a lot of fun putting this card together for today! Kathy Racoosin has another coloring challenge going on, so I took a photo of my coloring to share also. I used the following stamp sets along with their coordinating dies for today’s project: Summer Friends, Summer Surfboards, Tropical Birds.

After stamping and coloring my images, I planned my background and realized that I needed more space if I wanted to turn this card into a shaker using the new Aloha Shaker Die so this quickly became a slimline card (4.25″x8.5″).

I started with my card panel by ink-blending some Tumbled Glass (leaving the center light where the Aloha Shaker was going to be used) for the sky and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink for the sand. I used my Aloha Shaker die to cut out the shaker section and ink-blended it with Scattered Straw. Since the blue was light, I was able to ink-blend over it without having to die-cut a new panel. I like that it also gives a slight green hue (as if it were a reflection from the green palm tree). I then sprayed the panel with some water to add texture to my scene.

On a folded card base, I also ink-blended the same ink behind the shaker window. At this point, I adhered some acetate to create the shaker window, then added foam adhesive all around the card base, leaving an area open for the Summer Days Sequin Mix that I used (it’s easier to line up the card front when the sequins are on the cardbase, if possible, especially when the card front is matted over the card base like this one).

Once the card was constructed, I started adhering my images to the card to create my scene, some directly to the card and others, using some foam adhesive for dimension. I really hope you enjoyed this fun summer scene! I’m really happy with how it turned out! Have a blessed day and stay cool!
