Hi, Friends!
We have a special blog hop today sharing a new “Partners” collaboration between Hero Arts and Gina K. Designs. Gina K. has designed a stamp set called Friendship Blooms to celebrate Hero Arts’ 45th Anniversary and it is sooo beautiful! It’s designed by my friend, Hannah Schroepfer for Gina K. Designs and she is amazing!!! Hannah does amazing art and and I’m absolutely thrilled to color one of her beautiful designs. This exclusive stamp set is only available at the Hero Arts store so be sure to check it out to support Hero Arts and thank you, Gina K. Designs for your support!

My card today is a pretty straight-forward one-layer card. I stamped my image using Gina K. Designs Amalgam ink in Whisper to do no-line coloring with Polychromos colored pencils. Since the image is longer, I couldn’t fit it all on an A2-sized panel so this is a longer card – 4.25″x7.25″.

To color each of the petals and leaves, I started with a light base of white colored pencil. Then I applied the colors from darkest to lightest and going back to blend with white and adding more lines with the darker colors, If necessary. Use a really light hand with the white bc a little goes a long ways!

When I was done coloring, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Sepia ink and then splattered the panel with some watered-down acrylic ink. Colored pencils aren’t difficult to use – but it definitely requires a lot of patience and a lot of time! I started coloring this while taking a trip to the river for a rafting trip with my family then spent a few more hours coloring at home. I hope you think it’s worth it!

Loved the fact you showcased the complete stamp. Coloring is difficult for me so I especially love to look at someone’s work who makes it look so realistic. Great job
