Hi, Friends!

The My Favorite Things August Release is here! Such fun products and I could resist making these cards!  I’m an MFT Friend today, so please be sure to check out the MFT & Friends blog post to see the full line up for more inspiration. I’ve got 3 to share with you so let’s dive right in!

My first card  uses the new Squirrels! stamp set!  These little squirrels and their acorns are adorable!  I colored my images with Copics and then inked my background with the Cloud Stencil using Broken China Distress Oxide Ink.

Copic colors used:
R00, R22, R05, R29 (mushrooms)
YG41, G03, G19 (leaves)
E31, E35, E27 (tree, acorns, mushroom trunks)
E000, E41, E42, E55 (squirrels)

The ground is created by using the new Tucked-in Turf-Vertical Dienamics.  I cut this from white cardstock and ink-blended it with Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles Distress Oxide Ink.  Then I stamped my sentiment and added my images to the panel, trimmed my cloud panel and matted everything on a cardbase.

My second card features the new Rainbow Bright Dienamics. I die cut my rainbow pieces and ink-blended each carefully with the colors of the rainbow using Distress Oxide Inks (Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, Bundled Sage, Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac).

I then worked on my background by ink-blending with Cracked Pistachio and Tumbled Glass.  I tapped my rainbow pieces together and adhered that to my background panel and spritzed it with some water for texture.

To complete my card, I die-cut some Stitched Cloud Edges with white and vellum cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment using Rainbow Greetings then stamped and colored the little Hearts from Fairy-Tale Friends then adhered the hearts with a few pink jewels.

Last but not least, I had to create with the Bedside Manner and Call the Shots sets. If you don’t already know, my husband is a doctor and I’m a pharmacist (no longer working full time) so I couldn’t resist!  I colored these images to somewhat look like us.

It’s a simple card, but it’s special to me.  The images are colored with Copic markers:

E53, E23, E17, E49
B00, B24, B37
C0, C3, C5, C7
BG13, BG57 
R20, E50, E21, E30, E53

After die-cutting, I ink-blended the background with Tattered Rose and vintage photo by masking off the floor.  The sentiment is from Bedside Manners and is embossed on black cardstock with white embossing powder.
