Welcome to the My Favorite Things Countdown Kickoff! We’re beginning to share projects to show you what will be available next week when the October release goes live! I’ve made a card using a new Birdie Brown set called Christmas sELFies.

It was hard to choose which sELFie image to choose because they’re all so cute, but I ended up going for these cute snowmen. I decided I wanted to create a shaker card so I started first by creating the top panel. Using a white A2-sized panel, I ink-blended using Tumbled Glass and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink. I ink-blended from the top and faded until about 3/4s of the way down and left the remainder of the panel white.

Then, I prepared my shaker window using the Square Peek-A-Boo Window die. A part of the new release is a Snowfall-Vertical Stencil, so I used it to add interest to my ink-blended panel using Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone.

I next stamped my image using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink and colored them with Copic markers. After coloring, I added some white gel highlights then added foam adhesive around the perimeter to add some white iridescent seed beads to mimic snow. Peeling back the adhesive backing, I added my ink-blended panel over it to seal my shaker. I then mounted the entire panel onto a top-folding card base and attached a sentiment that I embossed over black cardstock and die-cut using a Skinny Strip die.
