We’re 3 days until the next My Favorite Things October Release!!! I’ve made a card today using MFT card stock strips and the new Joy, Love, and Peace Die-namics. This is a Laura Bassen-inspired card (she’s a master of cardstock strip cards, in my opinion).
To make it my own, I did stay true to my color palette and love for pastels. The colors of cardstock I used are: Razzle Berry, Cotton Candy, Lemon Chiffon, Gumdrop Green, Berrylicious, and Wild Wisteria. I sliced random widths using my paper trimmer, then adhered them to an A2-sized white panel. To make this process quick, I applied double-sided adhesive to the top of the white panel first.
After adhering all my strips of cardstock to cover the A2-panel, I trimmed it to clean off the edges. Then I die-cut the Joy, Love, and Peace from heavy white cardstock and used it’s negative to help me line up the words over the paper strip panel. I kept the negative in place with some temporary adhesive and added foam adhesive in the openings, then added the die cut letters over the negative. After all the letters are in place, I lifted the negative panel to reveal the perfectly positioned white letters.
To give my card some contrast, I used the new Bitty Holiday Wishes stamp set to emboss 3 different sentiments that complimented the words Joy, Love and Peace in white and then adhered them with foam adhesive at the bottom of each word.
I hope you enjoyed this colorful card! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
