It’s time to start a new Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! The challenge for the next 2 weeks is a card sketch and I hope you’ll play along!
I’ll have to admit – this one was so hard for me!!! Because I love scene building and I couldn’t picture it! I had 3 different ideas that I scrapped before I finally came up with my card today – in a more literal interpretation than I had wanted.
I used Spiffy Speckles patterned paper for my Stitched Cupcake and hanging pennants from the Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up Box today. Then I ink-blended around the edges with Picked Raspberry and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Inks to give the images more color and depth. Everything is die-cut except for the stamped sentiment on the banner. To create the top panel, I used the Outside In Stitched Rectangles to first cut the full panel, and then a smaller rectangle to cut the top window.
On a card base, I ink-blended Cracked Pistachio and Tumbled Glass where the window is revealed for the shaker window and sprayed it with some water. Then I added acetate to the back of my card panel to close the window, added foam adhesive all around the back of the panel to create the shaker panel. To seal it up, I added some sprinkles over the ink-blended area and then placed my shaker panel over it.
The last step was to decorate my card. I added my pennant banner die cut from the Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up Box and then adhered the cupcake to may card to the right as the circle element is shown in the sketch. I die-cut a Fancy Wavy Banner, stamped it with a sentiment from the Wavy Sayings stamp set, and adhered it to the bottom of the cupcake.
It looks like a card my daughter would enjoy – REALLY. She’d probably love it if I let her have it. It’s fun and colorful and I hope you like it! Please play along and show us your interpretation of this card sketch! Check out the Lawn Fawnatics website when you’re ready to link up your project!
