Hi, Friends!

Over the weekend on the Hero Arts Blog, the team shared countdown projects for today’s release! The entire collection can be found HERE. I created an indoor scene with this month’s My Monthly Hero Kit for that countdown project, but today, I’ve got an outdoor scene for you! I love that the kit allows you to do both!

Here’s my card from the countdown:

It’s definitely a classic scene. My outdoor scene is also classic, but I’ve used more modern colors to color the die-cut panel from the kit. I have a large porch for the first time and I’m so excited to be able to decorate it this winter.

I colored this entire one-layer panel with Copic markers. The door does open up to reveal a simple scene, but I tried to keep the focus on the front.

Copics:  R08, R37, R89, Y11, YR23, G03, G17, G46, C2, C3, W2, W3, W5, W6, E30, E31, E35, E25

I backed the openings of the porch lights with yellow cardstock and the window above the door with light blue cardstock after adding some yellow Copic color to add a soft glow. Then once I colored my cardbase to reveal the floor and background along with the images, I propped the panel up with foam adhesive before adhering it down to finish my card.

I love that this door opens to reveal another scene inside. I think color choices would definitely change the look of this die and I can’t wait to see what everyone does with it!
