Hi, Friends!
Today, I’m sharing two cards from Gina K Design’s latest release! These cards are special to me because they’re designed by my friends, Hannah Drapinksi and Emily Loggans – who are sisters! So much talent from that family! Hannah illustrated the Massive Peony stamp set and Emily illustrated and hand-lettered the sentiments on the Be the Rainbow stamp set.
Let’s start with the rainbow card that I made today. I love that there are two sizes of the rainbow on this set. So I used them both to do some repeat stamping to create a pattern that I embossed in white to do some resist ink-blending. I only used 3 colors to create my rainbow today – Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw and Mermaid Lagoon. By blending these three colors and allowing them overlap, we get an organic reveal of rainbow colors.
To give my panel more interest, I used a scallop die to cut a frame around it. I also splattered the panel with water and white paint to give it more texture and interest. Then I stamped my clouds and colored them with B00 and B0000 and stamped a sentiment on one of the clouds before adhering them over my panel with foam adhesive for dimension.
My second card using Hannah’s Massive Peony set is embossed with gold embossing powder over cold-pressed watercolor paper and painted using Daniel Smith Watercolors (Quinacridone Magenta, Hooker’s Green, Sap Green, Carbazole Violet). I braved it and fussy cut all around the image, leaving no border.
For my background, I stamped and embossed the sentiment in the top right hand corner of a white panel. Then I used the new Heartfelt Stencil (which is a part of this month’s kit) and spread White Glitter Glitz over it to add hearts where I wanted my flower cluster to sit. Then I applied my image over the stenciled hearts, careful not to cover the sentiment.
