Hello, Friends!
I’ve been sharing cards to countdown to MFT’s mid-month red rubber release! It’s full of new floral stamps and have been using a different medium/technique each day. If you’ve missed it, you can check out my previous posts to see the cards. Today’s card features the Harmonious Hibiscus stamp set and I’m using a technique I learned from Yana Smakula.

This technique uses colored card stock – depending on the color of flowers that you want. I used light pink card stock for my card today because I wanted my flowers to be pink. The first step is to emboss your image on the colored cardstock. I chose to emboss the image using gold embossing powder.

To start coloring, I used a black Copic marker (100) and flooded the negative areas with the black. Next, I colored the flowers with the pink Copic markers (RV11, R85, R56, R89). Finally, I colored the stems with the green (G43, G46).

I trimmed down my card front to mat my card base and finished by embossing the sentiment over black card stock with the same gold embossing powder to coordinate with the embossed flowers.
The release is tomorrow! I hope you’re excited! I’ve got one more card to share and hope you’ll join me back here to celebrate the release! Thanks so much for stopping by!
