Hi, Friends!

I’m so thrilled to be able to play with the new Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit. It’s heeps of fun in the sun!

My first card uses the Hello Sunshine set. It’s a 6″x8″ clear stamp set. Lots of sentiments and several images of different depictions of sunrays. There are also two stripe stamps – solid and open and I used the solid stripe stamp to create and abstract beach scene.

I used Altenew inks to stamp the colors for the ocean and sand then I ink-blended the sun and sky using Distress Oxide Inks. I embossed my clouds, then used Nuvo Crystal Drops in white to add texture to my clouds. Too finish, I stamped the sentiment below the sun and added some Nuvo Glitter to the center of my sun. Pretty simple!

My second card uses the Summertime BBQ 3″x4″ clear stamp set. I stamped my images and colored them using Copic markers.

Copic markers used:
Grays: C1, C3, C6, C7
Browns: YR24, YR27
Reds: R32, R35, R39

I fussy cut my images, then created my background with a combination of ink-blending for the sky and using Doodlebug patterned paper from the kit for the sentiment, picnic blanket and grass. The BBQ letters are also cut from the pattern paper in this kit!

Those little ants are stickers from Doodlebug – which are also included in this kit. SUPER FUN! I love this summer theme and loved that I was able to create two unique cards using the kit. I can’t wait to see what everyone else creates!
