Hi Friends!

Today starts a new challenge for Lawn Fawn! The challenge team is kicking it off with inspiration for this challenge’s theme of Halloween/fall inspiration! I’m not a Halloween person myself and don’t make a lot of Halloween cards, so I was definitely inspired by the photo in the top right of this inspiration board.

I imitated the photo on the inspiration board by ink-smooshing the Distress Oxide Inks onto Bristol Smoooth cardstock to create the fun textures on my leaves. From left to right and some using a combination of colors: Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Crackling Campfire, Candied Apple, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany.

I used my pad to dab ink onto a glass surface and sprayed it with water, then used a piece of cardstock to flip it over and pick up the ink. I dried the panel with my heat tool after applying ink and repeated this process 2-4 times for each of the panels and splattered them with darker colors before die-cutting with a combination of the Small Stitched Leaves and the Stitched leaves.

I used the Small Slimline with Lift Flaps die to die-cut my top card panel using Vanilla Malt cardstock. I added a piece of twine about 3/4″ from the top and applied this panel to a 3.5″ x 8.5″ card base using foam adhesive. Then, I lined up my leaves and adhered them to the card using more foam adhesive to give it extra dimension. My sentiment is from the Tree Before ‘n Afters set. To finish, I embellished my card with some clear round drops.
