Lawn Fawnatics – Challenge #89 – Mice on Ice

Hello Friends!

We’re starting a new Lawn Fawnatics Challenge today and we’re having fun with holiday critters! I think this is a free for all and I know there will be amazing entries for this challenge!

For my card today, I used the Mice on Ice set to make a forest scene with my holiday mice skating in a pond. I stamped the trees using the Over the Mountain Borders along with some extra trees from the Winter Skies set.

Copic Markers Used:
Trees: G21, G24, G28, G29, E30, E35, E37
Snow: B0000, B000, B00
Mice: W0, W1, W3, W5, R30
Reds: R21, R22, R27
Pinks: RV21, RV23, RV25
Teals: BG10, BG11, BG34
Purples: V01, V04, V05

To create my pond, I ink-blended a panel with Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks. Then I used the Stitched Pond die to cut out the pond shape. Then using an embossing pad, I dabbed the entire pond with ink and covered it with clear embossing powder – this gives the pond lots of shine and a glassine look. I adhered this to my background and trimmed the panel to mat an A2-sized cardbase.

I attached my skating mice to the pond area along with the extra trees I colored using foam tape to create my scene.

To finish, I prepared my sentiment. I stamped the word Joyful and die-cut it along with 3 extra layers of white to give my sentiment more dimension. Then I embossed the word Wishes in white over black cardstock to finish my sentiment.
