I’m using an older set that I’ve never used before and I’m excited to share it with you! There’s no hiding how much I love florals and the Stronger Together set is beautiful! I usually watercolor or go for Copics when I want to make a *quicker* card (don’t be fooled…I’m still very slow at coloring even with Copics!), but today, I decided to color over colored cardstock.
Fog cardstock is a favorite of mine for backgrounds and matting – it’s a soft “griege” color that doesn’t distract from the eye. So I stamped my images over Fog cardstock with a light brown hybrid ink to color with Copics and colored pencils.
I laid down a layer of Copics (YG13, RV10) first – I think it makes the coloring go a bit quicker and doesn’t require as much blending with the pencils with some color in the background. Then I used my Polychromos colored pencils to shade and add color and blended with a white pencil.
Flowers: Pink Carmine 127, Dark Red 225
Foliage: Leaf Green 112, Green Olive 167
After die-cutting, I created my background with another piece of Fog cardstock that I first ink-blended with white pigment ink, then Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink. I think the white pigment inks gives the oxide ink a smoother surface to blend over since the fog cardstock has more tooth to it. To finish, I embossed my sentiment and added my colored and a few iridescent sequins.
