Hi Friends!

Gina K. has amazing floral illustrators and I love being able to color the images. My card today uses the Heartfelt Bouquet – illustrated by Arjita Singh.

I began by stamping and embossing the image over Copic-friendly cardstock. I was told a long time ago that coloring over embossed images can ruin your marker nibs, but I have not found it to be an issue. I think this helps me color quickly – especially in small spaces.

Coral Flower (from the center):  YG13, YG21, Y11, YR31, YR61, YR65, R01, R02, R05
Purple Flowers:  [RV52, RV55, RV25], [C7, 100] 
Greens:  [G12, G14, G16], [G43, G46]

After coloring, I fussy cut around the image – I know, I’m kind of crazy like that. I even used a craft knife to cut out the negative space where I could. I think it helps the background color peek through – which I ink-blended with the new Kitsch Flamingo color. I splattered the background with a dark pink paint and the floral image with white paint to give it lots of texture.

I attached my floral image with foam adhesive to give it dimension, layering a vellum heart in between the two layers, die-cut with the Master Layouts 4 set. My sentiment is embossed in white over black cardstock. I fussy cut around the word hello to give it more interest and then attached my sentiments with foam adhesive as well.

I tried to color with some “different”-to me colors, but I hope you like it! I’m really loving peachy colors!
